Developer Obsidian Entertainment has announced that Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has been slightly delayed.
Originally planned for launch in April, the cRPG sequel will now make its debut on PC on May 8, 2018. The developers commented: "As you have probably guessed, Deadfire is a huge game -- significantly larger than the original Pillars of Eternity. Obsidian has been working harder than Abydon himself to make every inch of it awesome, as well as incorporating all the great feedback we have been getting from everyone playing the Backer Beta. With this in mind, we are taking just a few extra weeks to polish and put those finishing touches on the game."
In Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire players will embark on a dangerous voyage of discovery to become master of the seas as they command their ship across the new open world region of the Deadfire. Pillars II builds on the foundation of classic RPG gameplay with vastly improved graphics, deeper game mechanics and a whole new handcrafted adventure where choices matter.
After the PC launch in May, the game is also planned for Xbox One, PS4, and Switch.
