Enricko: "Games of the modern generation have taken on a much different form as opposed to their predecessors. There are many of them that do not allow players to fully experience all of their contents unless they are purchased virtually via online transactions. The term for what these players have to buy with their hard earned cash is what you would call a microtransaction.
While there isn’t exactly a specific source as to where the concept of purchasing additional virtual and digital goods originated from, but ever since its inception, hundreds and thousands of game developers have taken advantage of adding them into their creations. So whenever I immediately hear the word “Microtransactions”, there’s immediate skepticism as to whether the game is incomplete without them, or if they’re required to be purchased if players want an advantage over others."
