Heads up for new WoW inspired gamers: There is not much reason for a person new to the game to own WOTLK.
News and Discussions:
"No need to own the expansions to start again. Once you are level 60, buy burning crusade. Once you are lvl 70, buy wrath of the lich king. I'm currently doing that now."
"If you are new, you won't get anything out of Wotlk, so you don't need to drop the $40 on that. "

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King was released for PC and Mac on 13th November.
"ehh i already got the original, im just waiting to get a 100 foot ethernet cord, a router, and ill just buy WoTLK even though my highest char is a lvl 48 undead rouge from back in dec 06 when i last played. i might just get the battle chest instead cause the original WoW i have is an older version. will that matter though? i mean will i have to spend longer downloading patches if i use my old version or would it be better to buy the BC?"
ANSWER: It is better to buy Battle Chest than purchase Lich King unless you are already a WoW player with a high level character.
