Can't get enough super sugar crisp...Unless I get to punch in on some video punks!!

Section 8 PC XBOX 360 and PS3 Walkthrough Strategy Guide.

Okay so aside from what the title actually means (it means you are broke and ordisabled you need government assitance.. at least to my mother.)  But what it really is, is basically justgo ahead and combine a game like Tribes and something like Halo (due to the sci-fi) and you've got a game like Section 8. However this game has included some really innovative extras like Mech combat with airborne infantry. If you like team based fps games, this title is probably going to be something you'll be interested in.   PC GUIDES: Section 8 Video Game Strategy Guide and Codes, Section 8 Walkthru Strategy

Section 8 XBOX 360 Walkthrough Strategy Guide

Having a multiplayer session test with SouthPeak, apparently it handles 32 players in a match and the reason to jump on multiplayer mode is the usual capture the flag routine along with number of frags, and completing objectives kind of like Red Factions mod (you know the one). Helming one side either the 8th Army Infantry or Arm of Orion which both have equal power and weaknesses as far as weapons go, the storyline includes a fps adventure as one soldier in the Section 8 unit of commandos that fight their way through enemy territory.

The interesting aspect is a style of entry called "burning in" which allows a player to enter anywhere on the map at any time by flying down from above and stopping just before landing to locate yourself on the ground. It's not so simple tho since if you land wrong you might need a few seconds to recuperate making yourself vulnerable in say a multiplayer game or a strong fire zone. You can however land on top of an enemy allow a 'frag' point for multiplayer or in game kill. It's like sniping only with your body. Heh.

If you are angling toward a kill this way, you might also get it in return and best to just go at it suicidal with no breaking or breaking late. It does appear to have the same feel of halo. In the sense that it's an FPS, and you'll have vehicles. However, it also sounds better than Halo. Any avid fps gamer will also catch on that this is much more than a rehash of Tribes, however a true Tribes fan might see it as a game that just doesn't have it beat.

But as far as the actual Halo comparison, we would say this is valid in that it's a Sci-Fi shooter with power armor. But is Halo original? Not really, just a game that had good PR. Do I like Halo? Sure. Do I expect I'll like Section 8 too? Yes As long as the single player is as good since that's basically all I really look for in a game to be enjoyable. I do also enjoy a good multiplayer match, but that's really only after I've played the story through and become a fan of the game. Then I think about where I've been and what I've done during the matches making it a bit more on the replay ability side just to hold off playing the whole game over again.   GUIDES: Section 8 Walkthrough, Section 8 Game Strategy Guide (XBOX 360)

But of course if I really like it, I sometimes do just that. One of the SouthPeak underlings metentions that he doesn't care what anyone says, since he's been testing it for them in beta for a little over a week and would add that it definitely is an enjoyable game. Included in the upgrade system is an XP based ranking system were players actually go up in rank starting from private (we are presently not sure what the highest rank is). ggd$p3 It's also been mentioned by some testers that graphically the game could do with some improvements but again it was still in Beta. The videos of the gold version appear to be polished and ready for the release.  PC GUIDES: Section 8 Video Game Strategy Guide and Codes, Section 8 Walkthru Strategy

Again though, my biggest hope is for the single player missions to be as exciting and enjoyable as the multiplayer hype added in the promos. But other developers feel this is actually the first online multiplayer game in awhile that even though they have been a part of, have actually really enjoyed playing. And based on that fun alone, they believe it will most likely pick up at a good chunk of retail business from its competitors in similar fps games coming out. Gamers Discussion posts on this topic: The only reason that most people relate this to halo is because Tribes is far older, and sold far less copies. If you knew the slightest bit about what you were talking about, you would see this game is far far closer to Tribes and not even that close at all to Halo except the furutistic theme that all 3 share.

Though Tribes was designed for competitive fps play (i.e. you under no circumstances would have the game do the aiming for you, and were forced to rely on your own aiming skill), and this is clearly designed for console fps'ers who can't aim. You might try setting up an AA turret to reduce the chances of the enemy landing behind you in one piece. Also, take out the sensors so they don't see you on the mini map. yes it does in my opinion as well. i got on with a couple friends and they think the same. they need to get rid of the jump jets and drastically reduce the shield damage mitigation at the very least. we all also thought we'd like the aspect of burning in anywhere on the map but after playing, its just annoying. Initially my response as well, but it actually serves as an interesting feature which backs the high level of dmg your shield can take. It makes the passive booster selection mean something -> E.g. my aim sucks so I take auto aim instead of boosting my damage or run speed. And since weapon do little damage in general compared to other fps games, a person having perfect aim on your isn't as deadly as it would be in say cod4. You are missing the point. Yes it may be possible for me to not take (or I could chose to simply never use) the lock on. This is meaningless.

It does not change the fact that it makes the game less competitive and skill driven. You (using lock on or not) can still be locked on and shot by people who are absolutely horrid. For example, in Tribes (which seems to closely resemble this, though can't say for sure since last I checked vehicles werent in) you could easily tell the competitive/skilled groups because they would take on numerous people at a time and kill them all without taking hardly any damage. Now in S8 this is not possible because they will lock on and kill you. The lock-on is merely a feature to make the gameplay less competitive and skill based and to make it more fun for those who are terribad. If you like being gunned down by people who cant aim at all, and having your ability to properly aim while you circle strafe, jetpack, and dance around meaningless since those who aren't good enough to keep track of you will simply use their lock on feature, then yes the game might not blow for you.  PS3 GUIDES: Section 8 Game Walkthrough Guide, Section 8 Cheat Codes and Walkthru

Solution: Allow player run servers a feature to disable auto aim/lock on all together. I can see the titles now... So and So Server, no lock on server! Lock on? This game's already losing my interest. I shall wait until the 2.04GB betaclient+game are finished DLing for me to pass judgement. I'm actually hoping its bad cause I can't work during the school year and I need extra cash already for the AC2 and CoD:MW2 CoD4 on PC does NOT have auto aim built in, would you retards get your facts straight? I know it has to be easier for noobs on Xbox 360/PS3, but that is not how it works on the PC, which is also why I stopped playing public, since it's simply too easy owning up an entire server. Sheesh you're the 2nd one to say that crap. Watch a random cod4 PC video on youtube and you'll see.

As I said on my own thread, next to CS(S), CoD4 on PC is the most prominent fps game in the e-sports scene as of now. It's extremely deep and competitive when played in clans with promod. Of course don't take my word for it. Look up active clan in ladder numbers by ESL, CB, TWL. Yep, CoD4 is by far the most popular and for a good reason. It has a very large spectrum of skill, which is also why I can maintain 3:1 K/D against basically any number of players that aren't playing clan matches regularly The 'Burn In anywhere' feature has promoted and hyped since day one, yet some of you seem a little surprised that you can actually 'Burn In' anywhere. Didn't you know that this was a main feature? If you've read anything about this game before you got it, you knew that this was a feature, in fact, a defining feature.  GUIDES: Section 8 Walkthru Strategy Guide (PS3), Section 8 Strategy Guide, Cheat Code Help and Walkthru

Also, just from looking over the somewhat sparse Section 8 site as well as a number of previews, I see a number of refferences to the various 'upgrades,' some of which are reffered to as 'Aiming Upgrades.' Again, I'm not really getting why some of you areactingthe surprise. Why are you complaining about features that have been talked about by the devs and previews for close to a year now? You knew this stuff was in the game.So Where the Wild Things Are the video game is a story inspired by the film, but the measures that take place here will be diverse.
