Halo 3: ODST and the secretive "HALO REACH" is the latest from Bungie to bring the anticipated update to HALO 3 multiplayer fans into the next millennium. The addons to the story allow Halo 3 ODST lends to a new multiplayer experience bringing on much more replayability.
When compared to the original Halo 3, this version includes upgrades to the weapons like sound suppression devised updates, a low light visor, an advanced version of the Halo 1 pistol for would be fans to enjoy both the nostalgic original concepts. Although most of what has been released looks mostly like Halo 2 with a graphics engine upgrade, overall, this release looks to be quite fantastic.
The original story concepts are displayed in a much more picturesque fashion making the game feel like a movie even while playing it. You HUD shows you when you are close to a 'plot' point to bring on a revealing cutscene. Not only do you run the helm as Master Chief, but the game flashes back to another ODST fighter named Dutch whom you also play as to experience his part of the story, as well as other ODST's and their points of view on the occurrences throughout the storyline making it a multi-view way of unfolding the story template. Very cool.
You have to piece together clues to solve the mystery of New Mombasa's power. Blowing up bridges, arming targets and various other mission objectives similar to previous versions with that 'new' candy coated look, and the updates just make this game everything the development team was striving for.
As we mentioned earlier, the multiplayer gameplay has been big ever since the release of Halo 2, and more importantly Halo 3 which was geared specifically JUST for multiplayer. The Halo 3 ODST multiplayer game is called "Firefight". Halo 3 ODST is dropping into stores worldwide September 22, 2009.
Meanwhile another development project has been held top secret from Bungie until the dramatic release of gameplay footage for Halo 3 ODST at E3. It appears a global impact of covenant destruction takes over an entire planet and perhaps the new game they are referring to will be a space battle shooter, but we'll have to see. The title for that is HALO REACH to be released sometime in 2010. I nice way to plug the next addon during the E3 conference. Very nice. So nice in fact, that in conclusion to the presentation, Bungie explains that if you purchase a copy of Halo 3 ODST upon release, you will be given a special invitation to join the XBOX Live Multiplayer BETA of Halo Reach included with the bundle. NOW THAT'S SELLING OVERSELLING US isn't it? Okay maybe it's just over-delivering and that's always been Microsoft's approach to giving the best quality products and services to stay ahead of the pack. At least it was the business model they used when we worked for them back in 2000.
