Get the game walkthrough guide for: G.I. JOE RISE OF THE COBRA for the PC PS3 Wii and XBOX 360.
Okay, so in the cartoon series I watched when I was a kid, the "Real American Hero" where knowing was half the battle, G.I. Joe had a cast of characters that included those type of good natured core bad guys that did helpful public service announcements between the commercials. Things like don't plug too many things into the wall socket adapter, stay away from hot pan handles on the stove, stuff like that. Along with those warnings they should regroup and let kids know how dangerous this game can be to your brain cells. It's mind numbing is what I'm saying.
This rather quickly produced release based on the film and attempt to release slightly before the film to get those video games off the shelf before perhaps the movie itself flops, is a well, hall shall I say it, kind of boring third person game that utilizes botchy portions of other game engines for it's 3D environment and the flaws are so numerous it messes up the simplest aspects of the game. Clipping, lagging, getting stuck where you shouldn't be, going THROUGH stuff you should be able to, just plain upsetting bugs that the obviously rushed release team had no way of fixing. It's as if the beta team released a bronze level version as the final gold disk they are packaging up there for what $49.99 USD? G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra Walkthrough for PS3 & XBOX 360 Common! That's a fourth of my weekly grocery bill, and I'd rather my kids keep their food down so I don't have to buy THAT again. An awful camera, atrocious vehicle sequences, and dreadful storytelling are just a few of the atrocities you'll face on this mission to spoil the latest scheme from the terrorist group Cobra. Local co-op play eases the boredom and frustrating thwartings, but even the closest of friends can't deliver you from this snake's venomous fangs. So now you know--and knowing is half the battle. Walkthroughs Walkthru Strategy Guide for GI Joe Rise of the Cobra
G.I. Joe's 3d space as mentioned earlier borrows extensively from Contra and Gears of Wars engine. You'd think that would be a plus. So okay, you and one other Joe (controlled either by another player or the AI) run through a series of 3D environments, blasting up all crap out of everything and avoiding very well armored bad guys. Taking them out basically involves just a lot of button mashing, holding down the fire button (or taping or gluing it down might be a more popular approach)… then flipping stupidly behind some blockade or another. What should have been enjoyable simply isn't, at least to myself the reviewer. GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra Game Walkthrough Walkthru Strategy Guide
Okay, this review sounds pretty bad, lets try to bring up some plus side. You get to play with more than a dozen different characters to unlock and play as. In this release, G.I. Joe does deliver some of the action that real destructive fanatics who like some fast-paced gunplay, or those enamored with the actual story of the franchise with a somewhat fun and entertaining story. The speedy release cut corners on most of the cutscenes, the dialogue is descent and delivered in a monotone and deliberate pace that utilizes some well recognized voice talents. So the gameplay itself is not really too bad or tiresome if you really are a big time JOE fan, but it just fails to get a number of essentials right.
