In Darkest of Days, you'll grow to encounter a little of the a large amount varied gameplay constantly released in one title. Thigns will in no way grow stale as you voyage to distant time and battle alongside dwell in from that time spot. Battling in Antietam (the bloodiest daylight of the American Civil War) feels much distinctive than battling on the part of the Russians at Tannenberg (where the Russians withstood 140,000 casualties in WWI).
First, I have to say with all honesty, this title has had my attention for some time, and it's this game that got me into wanting to play a game with this system again. I know it's weird, but hey, I'm entitled right? Okay so back in the 80's I was also fanatical about Zelda, but that doesn't make me weird does it? I didn't think so.
This title certainly follows the path of those similar games, but it (finally) adds some new ideas into the mix which I honestly must say seriously make it feel new instead of yet another money-grabbing rehash of the same ol' same ol. Even if it's based on the standard slightly updated revision of the previous engine that the same developer has been using for the past 2 years, it's still the same setup basically, but here, more realistic physics come into play.
The magic of the storytelling process is a lost art in the regards to keeping things fresh with a title like this. Technology is now so advanced that if you say a something that you might regret later, well, it all goes to how much fanatic fans and even the general public like the phyics and the game engine itself instead.
Circumstances which make the rules and regulations model most plausible. Namely, rules for which there are, have been, and will be no corresponding instances making the overall gameplay a bit confusing at times.
Unlockable How to Unlock Bomb Technician (25) Kill yourself with an explosive device. Complete Civil War (25) Complete all levels in the Civil War campaign. Complete Darkest of Days (100) Complete all levels in the game on normal difficulty or else higher. Complete WW1 (25) Complete all levels in the WW1 campaign. Complete WW2 (25) Complete all levels in the WW2 campaign. Ghandi Award (100) Complete a combat level without using any lethal attacks. Horse Puncher (100) Punch a horse in the face, killing it. Pistol Upgrade (100) Fully upgrade all gun settings. Rage Fists (100) Kill at least 25 NPCs with your bare hands. Rifle Upgrade (100) Fully upgrade all rifle settings. Secret Mission (75) Locate and complete the secret mission at the end of the game. Tethered Swimming (25) Die of suffocation underwater. With Chest Hair (200) Complete all the levels in the game on the highest difficulty.
