Command Conquer 3 Patch 1.05 Rocketing Online Small error delays gamechanging patch, to fan's chagrin. Electronic Arts sent along word today that patch 1.05 for Command Conquer 3 is ready to go live. This is a massive patch that will be fixing major gameplay inbalances and exploits that caused much anxiety in the CC3 community, including some players swearing off playing the game online until the patch's release. Some of the biggest and mostrequest updates in this patch include stronger infantry and tweaks to move players away from the popular strategy of building up a giant army of tanks alone. EA community manager Apoc also let us know that there was a small error in uploading the patch to the EA servers this morning, so there has been a minor delay. Everything should be fixed and good to go within a couple of hours. Once that's the case, players can download the patch by using the Check for Updates button in CC3's launcher or by simply logging onto the online portion of the game to trigger an autoupdate. The patch file will also be available for manual download on the Command Conquer 3 website later today.
Along with the huge gameplay changes, the patch also includes four new multiplayer maps. A reset of the online ladders for the game was planned to accompany this patch, but EA is saying that probably will not happen until tomorrow.
Apoc commented, This is a new beginning for Command Conquer 3 no matter how you slice and dice it, showing a lot of optimism for future plans for the game. He also let slip that while it's not set in stone, there is a lot of discussion going on about bringing the patch to Xbox Live for the 360 version of the game.
